Biopsy

Indication for a stereotactic tissue biopsy:

• there is a disease of the brain tissue that cannot be definitively diagnosed by imaging (MRI), or laboratory testing of the blood or cerebral fluid.

The tissue samples removed during this stereotactic operation will be examined by a neuropathologist under the microscope. In general the result of the test is available 3-5 working days after the operation.
