The Department follows an integrative psychiatric–psychotherapeutic overall concept and comprises the following areas:

• an acute ward (20 beds)
• two open wards (17 and 12 beds respectively)
• a gerontopsychiatric ward (16 beds)
• a polyclinic outpatient department
• a psychiatric–psychotherapeutic and psychosomatic day-clinic area (10 places each)
• a research and scientific laboratory area

In 2009, 1,470 patients were treated as inpatients at the Department. The average length of treatment was 15.6 days. In the polyclinic, 3,582 outpatient contacts took place.
